Pero, seg\u00fan esta nueva investigaci\u00f3n, el consumo de este tipo de grasas tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda estar asociado con una peor funci\u00f3n cognitiva general, y de la memoria, en las mujeres, a largo plazo. Por el contrario, las\u00a0<strong style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px\">grasas monoinsaturadas se asocian con una mejor funci\u00f3n cognitiva general<\/strong>, y de la memoria.<\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color:white;color:#333333;font-family:Georgia,arial,helvetica,clean,sans-serif;font-size:14px;line-height:20px;margin-bottom:20px;padding:0px;text-align:left\">\n<br style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px\">El equipo de investigaci\u00f3n analiz\u00f3 los datos del\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/clinicaltrials.gov\/ct\/show\/NCT00000479\" style=\"color:#5486bf;margin:0px;outline:0px;padding:0px;text-decoration:none\">Women&#8217;s Health Study<\/a>\u00a0-con una cohorte de casi 40.000 mujeres, mayores de 45 a\u00f1os-. Los investigadores se centraron en los datos de un subgrupo de 6.000 mujeres, todas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os; estas mujeres participaron en tres pruebas de funci\u00f3n cognitiva, las cuales fueron espaciadas cada dos a\u00f1os. \u00abAl observar los cambios en la funci\u00f3n cognitiva, encontramos que la cantidad total de la ingesta de grasa no importa, sino que lo relevante es el tipo de grasa consumida\u00bb, explica Olivia Okereke.<\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color:white;color:#333333;font-family:Georgia,arial,helvetica,clean,sans-serif;font-size:14px;line-height:20px;margin-bottom:20px;padding:0px;text-align:left\"><strong style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px\">Grasas saturadas<\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color:white;color:#333333;font-family:Georgia,arial,helvetica,clean,sans-serif;font-size:14px;line-height:20px;margin-bottom:20px;padding:0px;text-align:left\">Las mujeres que consum\u00edan las mayores cantidades de grasas saturadas, que pueden provenir de grasas de origen animal, como la c<strong style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px\">arne roja y la mantequilla<\/strong>, en comparaci\u00f3n con aquellas que consumieron las cantidades m\u00e1s bajas, mostraron una peor funci\u00f3n cognitiva general, y una peor memoria. En cambio, las mujeres que consum\u00edan m\u00e1s grasas monoinsaturadas, que se pueden encontrar, por ejemplo, en el aceite de oliva, mostraron mejores patrones de puntuaciones cognitivas. \u00abNuestros hallazgos tienen\u00a0<strong style=\"margin:0px;padding:0px\">importantes implicaciones para salud p\u00fablica<\/strong>\u00bb, afirma Okereke, quien a\u00f1ade que \u00abconsumir grasa buena, en lugar de grasa mala, es una modificaci\u00f3n de la dieta bastante simple, que podr\u00eda ayudar a prevenir la disminuci\u00f3n de la capacidad de memoria\u00bb.<\/div>\n<div
